We are excited to show you where we live and have highlighted some of our favorite places you should visit if you have some spare time! Jersey City is a very walkable city with shops, restaurants, and bars. Public transit and Citi bikes are also available in the city to get around.

Speakeasy style cocktail bar. Very limited seating, with cozy atmosphere. Located next door to Franklin Social Restaurant where you can grab a bite to eat.

Local brewery with very casual, industrial space.

Razza Pizza
Voted best pizza in NYC! You need a reservation to sit in the dining room, or they offer take out option.
Wurstbar
Casual bar and restaurant with sausages, burgers, and small plates with a good beer and cider selection.
Kitchen Step
Cute restaurant next door to our apartment with new-american / italian dishes. Good selection of cocktails and mocktails, has outdoor seating, and offers brunch on the weekends.
Taqueria Downtown
Very casual Mexican restaurant with eclectic vibe, outdoor patio, and simple menu of tacos, flautas, and tostados. Usually a wait, but you can order a margarita at the bar and hang out outside while you wait for a table.
Hamilton Inn
Located in the Hamilton Park neighborhood, the Hamilton Inn is a quaint bistro with American fair.
Hamilton Pork
Also located in the Hamilton Park neighborhood, casual with barbecue, tacos, and outdoor patio.
Ani Ramen
Ramen and Japanese restaurant with craft cocktails. Speakeasy sushi restaurant (Sushi by Bou) is located in the back of the restaurant.
Skinners Loft
Classic tavern style restaurant with bar on the first level and cozy dining room on second level.
Things to do
Hamilton Park
Neighborhood park in its namesake neighborhood with tennis courts, basketball, and playground. Lined with historic brownstones and a cluster of neighborhood cafes and restaurants.
Van Vorst Park
Our local neighborhood park. Small farmers market takes place Saturday mornings and afternoon. The small park has Arboretum accreditation and labels its unique palette of trees and flowers.
Liberty State Park
State park just south of downtown with walking paths, biking trails, and riverfront walk with views of Statue of Liberty and NYC skyline. Ferry access to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.
Pedestrian Mall
Runs along Newark Ave from Grove Street to Jersey Ave. Pedestrian only street with bars, restaurants, seasonal markets, and festivals.

Liberty Science Center
Science and tech museum with planetarium and interactive exhibits.
World Trade Center Memorial and Museum, NYC
Less than 10 minute Path train ride from Grove Street station to World Trade Center. Path train exits World Trade at the Oculus Building, next to the World Trade Center Memorial and Museum
